Marktlink opens third German office in Munich

We are delighted to welcome Dr Andreas Bonnard, our new Managing Partner and head of the eleventh Marktlink office. Together with Borys Storck and Henning Kürbis and their teams in Düsseldorf and Hamburg, we now have national coverage in Germany. This new office reinforces our international visibility as well.

The region around Munich, Augsburg, Nuremberg, Würzburg, Regensburg and Ingolstadt is very strong from an economic point of view and has many ambitious entrepreneurs. It is an excellent stepping stone towards other countries in the DACH region. “Here in southern Germany there are large DAX companies but also numerous other interesting companies,” says Dr Andreas Bonnard, who previously worked as a partner at for example KPMG and EY. He brings with him more than 20 years of consulting experience and will coordinate Marktlink’s activities and growth locally.

Movement in M&A activity

Despite the tense economic climate, Andreas Bonnard sees many opportunities. “Central Europe is struggling with a number of contradictions in supply and demand. Increased interest rates are not favourable either. Nevertheless, there is a lot of movement in M&A activity, for example in the generational changes of especially family-run businesses in this region. From Munich, we are ready to support all German entrepreneurs with M&A related questions. We will do so by establishing personal relationships and combining local knowledge with our international network.”

DACH region growth strategy

Marktlink Partner Fredrik Jonker coordinates the growth strategy in the DACH region. He had already observed that Europe has become one single market. “International business acquisitions are progressively becoming mainstream. We continue to see the increasing trend of markets and companies crossing national borders. It is therefore important for Marktlink to be able to support companies with these ambitions from a position of knowledge and expertise. We are convinced that we can assist entrepreneurs even better if we are visible on a local level. Our consultants speak the local language and know the culture.”

Largest European network

Our focus on the mid-market in Europe clearly remains unabated, now that we have opened our eleventh office. Further expansion into Austria and Switzerland in the short term would be a logical step, as a vast majority of entrepreneurs in Europe are considering selling their businesses within the next 10 years. With our extensive market knowledge and the largest network of European investors, we are happy to assist them in realising a successful acquisition. That means not only growth in the number of offices, but also in the size of the workforce.
