Before joining Marktlink I completed my BSc in Biology at the University of York and following that spent over a year with Deloitte working at their Leeds office. I have always been passionate about pursuing a career in M&A, and with Marktlink’s prestigious reputation and the added excitement of building Marktlink’s market eminence in the UK – it was an opportunity too good to miss. What I love about operating in the SME market is that I get to work with business owners, and get to know them on a personal level. I get to understand where they see their business heading, at which point I can determine whether Marktlink can support with their future plans.
One of my best memories so far is my trip to the Netherlands on my second day with the firm, where I got the opportunity to spend a few days meeting the teams at the Amsterdam and Deventer offices, and learnt about how we function as a firm, how we approach the work that we do, and what is at the core of our ethos. My long-term ambition is to become a partner at Marktlink. At the point that Marktlink’s leadership team decide that you are ready to become a partner, you know that you’ve made it and you’re an expert in your field – a fully fledged name in the M&A industry. That is the ultimate goal. In the meantime of course, by ambition is to work with my colleagues in Manchester to build a thriving M&A practice in the UK, and to make sure that Marktlink are growing into the same leading SME market advisors in the UK as we are in the Netherlands, and to make sure that local business owners have access to our wealth of M&A expertise.
