Nice to meet you!
I am Lars de Bruin.
Lars de Bruin has a special interest in mergers and acquisitions and earned his degree in Strategic Management. In 2012 he started his bachelor’s at Radboud University in Nijmegen. As part of this degree programme, he had the opportunity to study at foreign universities such as UC Berkeley, UPF Barcelona, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2015 he started his master’s at the Rotterdam School of Management. For his graduation thesis, he focused specifically on the human side of the mergers-and-acquisitions process, and talked to CEOs and CFOs at large Dutch companies such as Talpa, La Place and Ziggo about their recent acquisition journeys. In 2018, Lars took a number of summer courses in economics at Harvard University.

"What I love about mergers and acquisitions is the sheer variety of work involved. Each phase of the acquisition process requires different kinds of knowledge and different skills: financial, strategic, legal, commercial, and so on. This variety makes the work both challenging and fascinating at the same time. And I myself come from an entrepreneurial environment. That gives me a good understanding of what entrepreneurs go through during a takeover. Successfully guiding entrepreneurs through perhaps the most exciting period of their lives is beyond fascinating."
